I am a big fan of crisps. Well, who isn’t, really? I mean, come on, they’re CRISPS. Jeez. I’m also a fan of spicy food, and so got all excited when I saw THESE in the supermarket, on offer, and they were vegan! Yay!
Anyhoo, I’ve been at derby training tonight and am knackered, so on with the review!
Taste:
They actually taste like jalapeño! When I first bit into one, it was a bit OM-FRIGGIN-G MY MOUTH IS DYING but then, believe it or not, your mouth gets used to that, and when it does, these taste really fresh and exciting. Yes, that’s right, I just described crisps as exciting. But they are! It’s a light refreshing taste that reminds you you’re eating a vegetable flavoured crisp and did I really just write that dear god I need sleep. I docked a star for being waay too spicy upon first taste, but seriously people, PERSIST.
5 a day: ![]()
They are flavoured with something that can loosely be classed as a vegetable. Yep, I’m clutching at straws. I mean, they’re crisps. Come on.
Packaging:
The packet is not a widely recycled material, which sucks, but they gain a star back for having a lovely design.
Portion Size: ![]()
This is a ‘share bag’ size, which means it lasts me 4 different servings. Win.
Total:
Lovely crisps if you persist. Kettle Chips are a quality brand, and this is one of a couple of vegan flavours, so yay! The perfect crisps for the spice enthusiast. If you can’t handle the heat, stay out of the crisp packet!
Doesn’t quite have the same ring to it, does it?

As a potentially-transitioning vegan, I just recently started to learn about “accidental” vegan foods (like oreos! well, minus the sugar part, if you’re the type of vegan that tries to avoid sugar). As a side note, I’ve learned WAY more about going vegan by surfing blogs than doing actual “research.” (and on a side-side note, I found you by typing in “happiness,” not “vegan”–coincidence!)
That’s so cool
I really love accidentally vegan foods as they show non-vegans how much variety we can actually still eat! There’s really a whole other world of foods out there
I’m glad to hear you’re thinking of making the change, it’s the best thing I ever did for myself. If I can help at all give me a shout xo
